Volo Nero _ Black Flight

Inspired by and dedicated to the poetic force of Women in Black (in 1988 in a square in Jerusalem from the meeting of seven Israeli women who demonstrate in silence for an hour every Friday with placards saying “STOP THE OCCUPATION” enough to the military occupations of the Israeli government of the West Bank and Gaza, a wave was born that spread to twenty-four other cities including Tel Aviv, Haifa, London, Amsterdam, New York, Rome.
The DiN (Women in Black) movement becomes the symbol, the stimulus for the constitution of women’s groups in different parts of the world that are characterised by this desire to build peace, embracing the former’s methodology of expression: present in body and soul dressed in black, in silence they impose themselves and face people’s gaze. The art of communicating by keeping silent.
